It finally happened to me.
I did the seafoam through the PCV valve this weekend and really enjoyed the fume show. Permit it set for 5 min. and drove effectually the cake until the fume testify ended. Changed the oil and put on a Wix.
All was going well and my iii year onetime girl was having fun helping.
Then I decided check the air filter and pop the air hose/tubing just split open and smiled at me.
So what is the set for this?
I searched but didn't really come up up with much.
Just put sealant on it and promise for the all-time?
I know the hose is big $$$ so I am interested in what others accept washed to accost this.
Thank you
Nib

Don't use silicone on that hose, I did that on my camry and it sucked the silicone into the throttle body and jammed it open.....not adept.

Duct tape seems to work well for people though......

I used a safety blazon cement called Pliobond fabricated past Goodyear. I let that fix overnight. And so I took some stainless bailing wire that I had laying effectually and went around the tube a couple of times before crossing over to the other side of the split up and went around a couple of times and crossed over once again. I repeated this footstep about eight times crossing over as close to equal sections every bit I could. I followed this step with a liberal amount of duct tape and finished information technology off with a couple of wraps of some metalized loftier oestrus tape that I had boot around from the wire loom repair. I noticed an immediate improvement in the idle - it dropped about 250 rpm. My intention was to call Dan the next day and order a replacement. That was last bound. HTH, Greg.

I appreciate a trail fix, ingenuity, and frugality as much equally anyone only I cannot understand a semi-permanent "duct tape & muffler tape" set up to this critical component to your engine.

The hose on there has worked well for 170,000 miles. Supercede information technology with a new OEM hose from C-Dan and forget virtually information technology for another 170,000 miles.

Nether $100. If y'all think duct tape will be a permanent fix, sell your Cruiser. Information technology does piece of work as a trail repair, or temp fix if you have to drive it to the dealer or expect for the UPS package from CDan. You're asking for trouble leaving information technology that fashion though. Leaks after the air filter can toll you your engine. Fixing ane crack in a deteriorated rubber hose is inviting trouble, no matter how proficient the fix.

I was actually hoping someone had a good solution such as using some inexpensive metal tubing simply I quess the 10 year and all that heat is all 1 tin can await from a rubber air intake hose. If its brittle there then its brittle everywhere. Calling Dan, again

Get a supercharger. The air intake hose I replaced last winter is at present sitting on the shelf as it gets removed with the supercharger. Umm certainaly more fun than Duct Tape!
